Gothic Vines Stole

Gothic Vines Stole

This stole was featured in the April 2012 issue of Knit ‘N Style magazine. It consists of two different lace stitches: a leafy vine stitch running down the center with a panel of gothic arches on either side. The shawl is symmetrical; you knit one half, put on a holder, knit the second half, and then graft the two halves together in the center using the kitchener stitch (or join together with a three-needle bindoff if you hate kitchener stitch). The pattern is written for a very soft fingering-weight yarn called “Camel-Hair” from Ornaghi Filati, but any fingering weight yarn will do, the drapier the better!
